In the 2025 RAICOM robot developer competition, Guangzhou Huashang College students, powered by theWWNT multi-functional training platform, stood out among dozens of top universities to win9 national awards, including2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 4 third prizes, across AI vision and humanoid robot tracks.
RAICOM: a national Class-A competition
RAICOM is co-hosted by theMIIT Talent Exchange Center, a national Class-A event listed in the national college competition analysis report asClass-A, themed"machines caring for people".
Founded in 2015 as RoboCom and renamed in 2023, it has held10 editions, becoming a top platform linking talent and industry and acore benchmark。
Each year it gathers elite teams fromTsinghua, Peking, Zhejiang, SJTU, HIT, and NUDTand dozens of top universities. Winning alongside them is high recognition of Huashang's teaching and student innovation.

The WWNT training kit: the hardcore support behind the wins
The core training platform was theWWNT AI machine-vision training kit, built on Raspberry Pi 5 with AI vision/voice modules and multi-sensor arrays.
AI vision capability
Supports detection, face recognition, and classification, directly matching the RAICOM vision track.
Modular design
Six plug-and-play magnetic modules for flexible competition prototyping.
Edge computing deployment
Linux/Ubuntu with lightweight deployment and edge inference.
Companion curriculum
6 courses + 36 labs + 100+ cases for a complete progression path.
Strong faculty, dual-mentor cultivation
The wins owe much to the advisor team, who led across groups in anacademic + engineeringdual-mentor model:
Core advisors
- Hong Shaoyong — led 4 awards (first/second/third)
- Ni Weichuan — led 2 awards (first/second)
- Dai Jingguo — led 2 awards (second/third)
- Lv Junmin — VP personally guided, won second prize
- Yang Bo / Ye Shitong / Yang Bensheng / He Luqi — co-advising
Student highlights
Outstanding undergraduates from the School of AI showed great innovation and teamwork across three tracks.
Competition-driven learning, industry-education bearing fruit
These awards prove the WWNT AI platform's real teaching value — not just equipment, but acomplete toolchain for hands-on AI From model training to edge deployment, from algorithm tuning to system integration, students complete full engineering practice, not just theory."
Award significance
- Teaching outcome validation:proving"hardware + curriculum + labs + competition"the feasibility of the four-in-one training model
- Platform value:WWNT training equipment withstood the test in a national Class-A competition
- Student growth:Huashang students can compete with top-tier universities in AI
- Industry-education benchmark:school-enterprise cooperation moves from classroom to competition, opening"learn-practice-compete-apply"a complete closed loop
Looking ahead, WWNT Robotics will deepen cooperation with Huashang witha more diverse hardware lineup, richer course resources, and closer competition coaching, helping Huashang cultivate more"hands-on, innovative, and competitive"excellent engineering talent, making every national award a new milestone in industry-education integration.
